I agree, theme-wise it's the best, but no way were they turning down a nice improvement arc for Tahlia, complete with a coming bitch edit for Celia(Just speculation) She and Allison perfromed the best for me, though I don't know who I'd say was better... They both excelled in different aspects of the shot. For Teyona, obviously she nailed the theme, while Allison nailed the fashion aspect, which is also rather important since it's (more or less) a modelling competition.
She is getting really high call-outs for photos that aren't necessarily the best, but I do suspect she will be Tyra's black winner of the cycle, so I'm not suprised. I don't mind her winning, although I'd love Allison, Celia, Natalie, or Sandra to win more. But she's a good model.
This is my first call-out too. The simplicity of it works in this photo. It's kinda like Marjorie's windmill shot, she's just standing there and bam! Great shot. And I agree with the other commenters who said that this is the most believable shot. She has a commanding presence here. It doesn't even look like she has a loser husband lurking. Oh, there is...kinda, when I take a closer look. And Benny Ninja is like ugh. Sour pose? Not a trace. Sour face? Yes, you Benny. That's SAO WARR for you.
very simple tyra would say "i still think youre resting on pretty" or "the pose is way too safe, its not taking us anywhere but the obvious" anyone agree?
Overrated and safe. I don't like this picture much, she's resting on pretty. But it does send across a message and it suits what people must've felt like upon their arrival at Ellis Island.
good....but the pose is a little bit boring....she could hav work her hands n legs a little bit....some movement or sumthing......historical photo yes but fashion photo?i doubt it a little
My favorite of her, I don't think she had to do an elaborate pose like somebody (Tahlia) because this all works. Teyona has taken some getting used to, but I love her now!
@David: I can see why you'd choose Celia, Allison, or Natalie over her, but why Sandra? Teyona had a better Innocence pic, Sandra had a better Tourist pic, and Teyona absolutely demolished Sandra in the Rock and Roll shoot, as well as this one. A nice look can only carry Sandra so far... Teyona is the girl I'd pick to win, but if Natalie can take slightly better pictures, with that walk, she'd be the winner. Allison is lacking a good walk, and though I love celia, she looks old.

NY City Sight Seeing - I think this one is obvious.
Tourist shoot - Ok, first of all, I'd like to say it is NOT easy to get a good shot in TEN frames. And Teyona DID do better than Sandra, but Sandra's shot wasn't bad here either.
Sandra has one of the strongest looks in the competition I've ever seen. Teyona has a look, but nowhere near as strong IMO.
Not to mention Sandra's body is PERFECT for the runway and her look is versatile, I could picture her doing HF easily and commercial work just as easy. Teyona, however, will NEVER be a commercial girl. In fact, outside of HF, I can't think of anything else she could do.
