Tyra wasted the opportunity! it could have been a fierce shot with better lighting and composition ... the hair reminds me of the Ann's (C3) motorcycle shot
the shot looks FIERCE, but the lighting is HORRIBLe. its like so dark. whats the point of having this shot in a castle, if you cant see the castle art. its so stupid. just take a picture at their home or something geesh. love anya's expression and the pose is made of editorial
It's overwhelmingly dark lighting, yes (and probably too much so), but I wouldn't call it horrible... The whole reason why we still include Caravaggio in art history textbooks (beyond his creative depiction of religious subjects) is the overwhelmingly dark scenery that was characteristic of his most famous pieces. He used darkness as his norm to illuminate what was important. (Is my analysis stretching too far? )
Yes, it might've been nice to see the rest of Anya's body a little bit more, but as it is, it looks cool to me. I have to look at this like its one type of art piece rather than just another run-of-the-mill ANTM photo shoot... if that makes sense. To me, the darkness, plus the cool use of perspective with the angle of the wall [to the right], make this shot the most interesting to look at, even if not from a modeling standpoint. I think this picture will help bolster Anya's 'real world' portfolio with some artistic refinement. just my opinion, tho...
^ That's what I'm thinking... Wouldn't you like to see a 'Top Model' champ who actually knows how to model for the camera?!? I mean, isn't that the most basic criterion for being a successful model (besides having 'a fresh face' or 'the look')?
Anya can be a bit "naive" like Natasha at most times ... but what matters is that she can model, she can give fantastic photos and she understands/gives what is asked of her. if she can deliver what her clients want from her then it's good enough ... that's what modelling is about after all
she's ok.. i would never hate on her..(or anybody else, i'm not that type of person) its one thing to be a great model, which she may very well be.. But the title of "ANTM" is about a total package..i think she has lacks! I don't think she has that "IT" factor. its really not that hard to be photogenic when you're as pretty as she is. but there's more to it. IMO
Anya is a true stunner in her pics and in person and I feel her personality is pretty cool and would appeal to a broad spectrum of people. That being said I love this picture although it's a bad one for Tyra as a photog it's great for Anya beacuse she really doesn't have to be overmade or over conceptualized to be fierce really.

She defenetly knows how to model!
