different strokes for different folks, runfiercely. plus, he's the new male model body for runways like gucci, jean paul gaultier, yves saint laurent and even smaller stores like the gap. having veins on the inside of your body is in.
^ I was watching a program on television that was talking about how male models are also starving themselves now in some cases in order to have the physique that many designers want their models to have. I don't agree with doing that and I think it's very unfortunate, but I will say that I find very thin men to be attractive.
^well, i should probably mention that i'm a little biased since i'm in the thin male category of modeling. but if women want us to accept the whole big is beautiful thing, than they should only be as open to thinner men. the whole muscle thing is very tiring. and 80's.
^Being THAT thin isn't natural after you go through puberty. A man's metabolism does slow down eventually. The whole heroin-chic thin male thing only works in a particular sublet of modeling. In terms of print modeling, Prada (just an example) uses very thin guys. However, look at a Louis Vuitton or Valentino ad-- the guy's aren't disgustingly thin, they have some tone-- because that's considered attractive by most of the world. I'm a "thin" guy (31-32 waist), but I do not look malnourished. Thanks.
i'm a 27 inch waist. so according to you, i'm officially anorexic? hardly any male models are malnourished. designers don't want ribs sticking out! well, for guys anyway. and being THAT thin isn't natural for EVERYBODY. but my father was that way, my grandfather was that way, and all my uncles are that way, which explain why i'm that way. this is definitely not "disgustingly" thin. it doesn't matter how thin you are as long as you are not harming yourself through an eating disorder or other unhealthy means.
^Sorry, but WRONG. Yeah, absolutely, some people are natrually predisposed to be a little on the thin side. Too bad most designers would not book a guy as thin as the guy in this picture. Especially for runway, a MAN is supposed to have a 30-32 inch waist. So I hate to break it to you, but a MALE MODEL (who should be 6'0-6'2) should not have a waistline below maybe 29-30 inches. Sorry. Watch any runway show with model models, most of them do have some muscle tone. This guy in the picture may not look sickly and unhealthy, but he looks... really bad. hahaha. BE A MAN, embrace your... muscly side!!!! Wahooooo. lol
^Well, i don't mean to rub anything in anyones face, but what experience do you have as a casting director and with what labels have you worked with. and i would never be as unprofessional as to expect to model at 5'2. i'm 6'0.
^totally invalid point: I don't need to be a casting director/ a model myself-- it's common knowledge. go to elite's site and look at any of the male models. look at their waist size. a male fashion model should wear a size 40 jacket and 30-32 inch waist. the whole "heroin chic" thin male thing is popular in a sublet of male modeling mostly in europe, and this look hasn't really translated to american fashion... and probably never will. so, sorry. the end. hahahaha.
