the judges say she always has the same look, but she doesn't! if you look closely at her expressions, they are different but she looks the same because her eyes are so distinctive and hog all of the attention. she doesn't have the same look, it just seems that way! she can't change her eyes!
the thing is this is a modelling competition.tyra is starting a trend or sum sort of experiment to put unmodelesque girls to explore their full potential.transgenders.burn victims.plus size.there are certain prejudices out there.and i jus personally think the fashion world in general may be a bit harsh for these girls.tyra is trying to give these girls a favor but lets not put them in the spotlight that has the potential to break their spirits.lets leave the competition to girls with actual potential.
I actually like Allison alot, but I do agree that she needs to provide some sort of variety.. I also think that its funny that some of the same people who talked crap about Dani for having a similar look in her photos, are praising Allison, and saying that its ok for her to have this one look.. I won't say any names...
The problem with the show, in my opinion, is with the contestants thought process. They want to ride the title and they think that is all it takes. Tyra does say that they are still a new model and you have to keep pushing, which they think is just within the competition. What they are saying is take what you learn here and apply it when you get into the real world of modeling. I am not a model but I know it has to be a competitive field and you have to work your way up, like with all careers. They mistake reality stardom with fashion stardom. You don't just get a vouge cover you have to earn it.
I completely disagree that it's the same look every week. Like many have said, it's easy for it to seem like she's giving the same look because of her distinctive features and her eyes, but different messages are clearly portrayed. And despite what Tyra claims, modelling isn't alllllll about extremes, it's about subtleties too. And Allison has subtleties. But in order for her to do well in ANTM, she better keep on with the squinty "smile. with. your. eyyyyes" "fierce" faces and throw in a couple contortions
She definitely embodies the girlishness of pink. Essentially, I think what they asked of her for this shot is not different from the first photoshoot: be an innocent little girl. That's what she did. This is better because Allison is so beautiful and unique, and there are no background models to drag her down.
when I did a layout of all her photographs, I realized that she had differents expressions in all of them. I agree with Niiiiick about the subtleties of her portfolio.
