A question: is Grace Jones a real icon for black women in the world? Because of the way Xiomara acted when she found it she was going to get darker skin. Other than that, this is fierce personified. I adore it.
^Definitely Heartbeat.I think Grace Jones is an icon for women, but not in any conventional sense. She was more of an influential "artistic" fashion icon and super fierce.Imo Xiomara portrayed her to perfection here.
Xiomara didn't actually want to personify Grace Jones because she didn't want her skin darkened, did she? I don't really know Grace Jones but I know she's an icon and multitalented. I thought Xiomara would have been proud personifying her, but no she didn't, because of the darkened skin.
I think it was more that she felt she didn't LOOK like Grace Jones and in turn this would be more of a challenge for her. I don't think she had a huge issue with her skin being darkened. Either way, stunning photograph!
^well being black and most black women feel that the darker their skin gets, the less beautiful you are because lighter skinned african americans get more compliments and attention... that being said this is magaical.
