haha I'm late into this whole conversation but I'm agreeing with David here, thin male models are in, especially over here in Britain. I guess it's like the whole plus size female thing, some designers want muscles (which personally I think are really rank) others are more diverse and like thin men as they show off the clothes much better. I'm around a 30 inch waist but I'm only like 5'9 in height. Oh and personally I don't think this guy is that thin :S
I believe there are fierce male and female modesl in every size. It's about a full package and how everything works together, and of course their performance. Of course there are limits of big and small, but within their places in fashion any kind can work.
