Kenneth Cole also uses his label to promote things like denouncing stereotypes, same-sex marraige, etc.
And I see what you mean about Amanda Lepore, but there's something almost iconic about her and a sort of life and sass. Isis was kind of lukewarm and to be honest, boring.
This is gorgeous, 3rd best of the week, it's not editorial but it looks like a campaign, she totally conveyed the message of her issue. LOVE IT!, and to respond to the "people aren't willing to work with transexuals", there was a Dutch model who was transgendered who did a LOT of high fashion work before she became too tall, and there are many transgendered models who simply do not wish to disclose that with their employers.
Isn't it funny how easy it was to get caught up in all the Isis love. We were like "ooh best photo, she's a model, this deserved FCO, fiahce *snap* *snap*". Now I look at it, read some of my earlier comments and I'm like
It's probably one of her better shots but it's by no means as fierce or modelesque as we all once thought.
Designers don't think twice if their model is transgender, they only care about what the model looks like and how they'll represent their line. Good designers anyway. Unfortunately, transgender or not, Isis just doesn't have a great look when it comes to modelling.

And good question, sparkle.
