I don't think people are aware of the fact this isn't even a fashion shot. Ryan McGinley is an artist and this is his art, his vision.. it's not bound to meet any beauty standards or anything, it is in fact an art piece.
The nudity doesn't bother me (I prefer nude models to clothed) And its clear this is meant to be a nude shot that is not meant to be typically pretty. It is meant to elicit a reaction, I don't know what the photographer was trying to say but I think its still executed with taste.
And as far as pubic hair goes, it shouldn't be a big deal. If anything when a woman is fully waxed its far more explicit than with hair. I'd rather see pubic hair, than just skin.
