The concept itself is kind of amateur as well, IMO. Nothing reads bland photography more than partially black and white photos. And there's no real point to the makeup, other than the fact that she looks like she was either attacked by a sharpie (and lost) or made up by a class of kindergartners during fingerpainting.
I think the the styling and photography here takes something classic and often seen and twists it a notch. If this was another, more suitable model, this would be inspiring to me.
